Aims
The aims of the Knowing Your Bible course are to: - Provide students with an evangelical, Bible-based education in Biblical Studies and Theology.
- Equip Christians with solid biblical training that is useful and relevant for church ministry or other Christian leadership roles.
- Enable students to understand the overall meaning and message of the Bible as the word of God.
- Develop essential skills in understanding and applying the Bible in contemporary Christian life and practical ministry.
- Provide Christians with a solid understanding of the history, geography and social background of Scripture.
- Develop an understanding an ability to handle the different types of biblical genre found in Scripture.
- Provide teaching and practical experience in hermeneutics and exegesis that will enable Christians to read, understand and study the Bible with greater clarity and depth.
- Enable Christians to approach practical Christian work and ministry with a greater understanding of Bible knowledge.
- Lay a foundation upon which students can develop further skills at undergraduate or postgraduate degree level.
The Knowing Your Bible course is ideal for people who are:
- Engaged in church work or Christian ministry and looking to study the Bible in a formal, structured and academic environment.
- Seeking to learn more about the Bible through rigourous training at a leading evangelical Christian College.
- Looking to study part time through distance learning (also known as open learning).
- Seeking a course that provides online resources and lectures/tuition through remote learning.
